This is the meaning of the exhibition: Dyslexia: Beautiful Mind.
For years, French street artist JR has used his camera to show the world its true face, pasting photos of human faces onto giant canvases and using the streets as a massive open-air gallery.
At TED2011, he embarked on an ambitious project: using art to turn the world upside down.
Inside Out
Launched in 2011, Inside Out Project was born from JR’s belief that art can be a powerful catalyst for social change. Inspired by the potential of photography to tell stories and bring communities together, JR created this project to give a voice to those who are often marginalized or made invisible in society. The concept of Inside Out is simple: invite individuals from around the world to share their portrait and their story, and paste their faces in large format in public spaces. Each portrait thus becomes a visual statement of the identity and diversity of the community to which it belongs.
Dyslexics are Beautiful Minds
Summer 2024 promises an immersive experience for those wishing to explore the richness and diversity of dyslexic minds. Indeed, Inside Out will present the Dyslexia: Beautiful Minds exhibition in San Francisco. An inspiring celebration of the creativity, resilience, and perseverance of dyslexic individuals. “Our goal is to change the negative connotation of the word dyslexia. These portraits depict dyslexics who embrace their differences, utilize their dyslexic thinking, and focus on dyslexic strengths“.
A dive into the world of dyslexics
Dyslexia: Beautiful Minds offers an immersive dive into the world of dyslexics through a series of interactive installations, artworks, and moving testimonials. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the unique challenges faced by dyslexic individuals, as well as the extraordinary talents they possess.
